Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance Manicure & Pics

I picked this up while at Nordstrom yesterday.  I have been wanting to try it for soooo long, and I finally gave in to temptation.  I hate to spend the $$ on these "high end" polishes, but in the case of Deborah Lippmann, I have yet to regret it.  Her polishes are unique and the formula is wonderful.  I love the feel of the bottles too....kinda heavy & sleek, and look great on a vanity!

The base of this polish is a sheer black, with different sizes of magenta glitter mixed in.  There are some chunky, hexagon shapes and some tiny round ones.  The first coat went on extremely sheer, and I feared I would have to make this a "3 coater".  To my surprise, I only need 2 coats to achieve complete coverage.  The glitter in this one was much easier to work with than that in Glitter In The Air
which I had to manipulate more to look "right". I was actually amazed at how easy it was to get it on and looking good.  I used a new base coat (Orly Bonder) & new topcoat (OPI Rapidry Topcoat)...I keep having chipping & peeling issues, so I am trying new things to see if that helps!

I am in love with this.  It is black without being BLACK.  It is glitter, without being INYOURFACE GLITTER!  I feel this is a way more "grownup" way to do a glitter.  It is pretty, but has an edge too.  Plus it was inspired by Lady Gaga, and I am a fan!!

Slowly getting sucked into the Deborah Lippmann vortex.....next I want/need "Don't Tell Mama" & "Across The Universe"!

  1. Ack! You're such an enabler! :) I totally forgot I wanted this one, haha.

  2. You're so right....I've forgotten how truly beautiful this colour is, plus it looks great on you! Like you, I find the bottles so pretty also - want to display them! Don't Tell Mama is stunning...especially in sunlight and Across The Universe is.....well, cosmic! Go for them and enjoy! hugs !!

  3. That's one of the prettiest polishes I've ever seen, WOW!
