My "Sprinkles" Manicure: OPI Otherwise Engaged with Wet N Wild Party of 5 Glitters

I have seen this awesome look done on many of the blogs I follow, and I had to attempt it!  My "Sprinkles" look is sorta a pink version of  Deborah Lippmann's "Glitter In The Air", only with more glitter! (also way easier to apply AND  inexpensive).  PLUS, it totally reminds me of frosting!

Back to the polish at hand.  For this manicure I started with 2 coats of OPI "Otherwise Engaged", a semi-sheer, pink opalescent color.  Then I did 1 coat of Wet N Wild's "Party of Five Glitters".  Once the glitter was on, I went back and did 1 more coat of the OPI color over it all.  It's like a nice little glitter sandwich!  The top coat of OPI softens the look of the glitter so it is not in your face sparkly, and that is why this reminds me of the Deborah Lippman Glitter in The Air shade.

Check it out:

I am now tempted to try this with every sheer polish I own!  What do you think?

  1. This is so beautiful! I've seen this around too, but I forgot I owned Party of 5 Glitters. Actually I think I have Milani Gems, too. I just bought the new Revlon jellies and while they are darker colors, I bet they would look cool layered with the glitter, too.

  3. Wow, Maribeth...this is so lovely & fun! You're right; it really does look quite a bit like Glitter In The Air layered over Naked....and it's great that it's a less expensive alternative! I may give this type of "sandwich" look a try with a few of my own! Gorgeous!
