Nail Polish of the Day: Essie "Main Squeeze" (pictures and review)

Essie came out with "Main Squeeze" in their Wedding collection last year (2010).  This polish is a sheer, dusty color with a lilac shimmer.  Really different than anything else I have, but I can't decide how I feel about it.  It's pretty but I it just doesn't "do it" for me. I do like the dustiness of it. Hmm...to keep or not to keep?

Since this polish is ultra sheer, I did 3 coats to build it up and this is what emerged:

Depending on the lighting, this can look white-ish or more gray toned.  (First pic is no flash, natural lighting; second pic, flash).

The good news is, the formula on this color was much easier to work with !

  1. There's nothing inherently wrong with this colour, but it does nothing for me, either. Just a personal preference - I usually go for greens, purples, blues, and loud colours. I'm glad to hear that the formula was good though.

  2. I like Essie's polishes, but some of the formulas aren't so great. China Glaze is a lot cheaper and I NEVER have issues with their formula.

I actually like this color. I'm used to seeing pink or nude sheers, so it's kind of refreshing to see one this color.
