OPI Touring America: I Eat Mainely Lobster Nail Polish Pictures, Swatches, Review

This color might be my favorite from OPI's Touring America collection.  Although the name (I Eat Mainely Lobster....'Maine', get it?) is silly, the coral color is stunning.  I love the idea of an autumn coral and this color is muted just enough to make it not as bright as a summer coral. There is a hidden shimmer that is barely visible at first glance, but it adds a softness to this shade:

Funny thing, while asking Jeff (my husband) what he would call this color, he actually said (with no beforehand knowledge), "Lobster Tail".  Are you kidding??  This color did not make me think of lobster at all, but maybe the people at OPI are onto something!

  1. This is soooo pretty! Do you paint your nails daily? Does that make them yellow? I love your blog though! Can you do a nail polish collection and swatches blog post? Thank so much!

  2. iLadybird, I do! Hahaha....I get very anxious and want to try ALL of the new colors I have waiting, so I'd say I paint my nails AT LEAST 5 times a week. I have no trouble with yellowing, thanks to base coat. I tend to stay away from "staining" type colors too, so that helps. :)

  3. Or maybe your husband works for OPI and has been keeping it a secret all this time. :P Haha!

This is a fantastic shade. I really want to try this because I don't have many colours like it, and the subtle shimmer is a nice touch.

    Thanks for swatching it! :)

  4. What base coat do you use? No matter what I try my nails always turn the most disgusting shade of yellow. I guess it doesn't matter TOO much because my nails are always painted, but it still looks gross.

Oh, and this color is so pretty, but it doesn't remind me of lobster either! That's funny that your husband thought it did without even knowing the name.

  5. Jessi, I typically use Orly Bonder but switch it up sometimes...I got the Julep one and like that a lot. If something is really dark, I use my Seche Ridge Filling Base Coat because it is white and blocks more color :)

  6. I almost did my toes in this but went for a oranger brighter "a good mandarin is hard to find" OPI. ( BTW. I want a job naming nail polish. How fun would that be?) But I love this on you!! Perfect color!! I am a gold olive skin tone and the bright orange is more for me ;). Very tasty color!!!!

  8. I am absolutely blown away that your husband said he would call it lobster tail! WOW, smart husband you've got there! I'd not have thought to relate the two, either. I do, however, like this shade and wish I had had it for the summer months... maybe I'll get it now for next year

  9. Wow, something about this color and you nail length just looks perfect!! I had a Maine lobster once ... it needed to be an all you can eat type of thing cause it did not satisfy my hunger.
