Favorite Polish Memories from 2011!

I decided to take a quick walk down memory lane with a list of some of my favorite polishes from this year.  You will notice that my 2011 list is full of tons of crisp teals and turquoises, along with plenty of fresh looking nudes- I can't get enough of these!

Here they are, in no particular order:

OPI I Eat Mainely Lobster- I love this fall coral...it was one of my favorite 'bright' colors this year:

Julep Stella- Mustard yellow for your nails?  Hellz yeah:

CND 24K Sparkle (shown over CND Midnight Sapphire)- a simply spectacular flaky gold glitter:

Julep Olivia- delicious dark chocolate creme:

Maybelline Cool Couture- Maybe I should be paying more attention to Maybelline?  'Cuz the teal shimmer in this is sick (that's 'sick' in a good way :D )

Essence Color & Go Can't Cheat On Me- A silver, holographic polish for a buck?  YES please:

Cult Nails Awakening- Darkened teal with a jelly/creme finish...yum!

Cult Nails In A Trance- smoky olive green w/ gold shimmer:

Julep Kate- Pearly white (with zero streaks!):

OPI Rainbow Collection- The perfect confetti glitter bomb:

Essie School Of Hard Rocks- I would say this is probably my #1 fav polish this year...I love it that much!

Essie Trophy Wife- A shimmery, hot turquoise:

Finger Paints Winter Sky- Yes, another turquoise-but-c'mon...they are so beautiful!

Color Club New Bohemian- a soft version of my favorite hue:

Julep Penelope- Perfect baby pink:

Essie Dive Bar- blackened blue-y, teal perfection:

So, there you have it.  I definitely went off the deep end with the teals this year.  I wonder what 2012 will bring into my polish collection?  Will I remain true to the turquoise?  Or find a new love?  What was YOUR favorite color for 2011??
2011 definitely was all over the place for me, but I learned a lot about myself and I cannot wait to find out what 2012 has in store for all of us!

<3 Have a safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR!! <3

More Essie Luxeffects (Pure Pearlfection Nail Polish) Plus Dive Bar!

I am visiting family in Massachusetts this week, and I was finally able to find Essie Dive Bar!  Sitting next to it on the shelf in the beauty supply was the Luxeffect 'Pure Pearlfection', and they looked like the just belonged together.  Naturally, I had to bring them both home, even after declaring in my last post that I didn't need anymore of these effects.

Here is Dive Bar by itself, a deep, blackened teal:

I did one layer of Pure Pearlfection on top, which added a sweet gossamer finish to Dive Bar:

I'm so psyched to have finally added Dive Bar to my collection, and Pure Pearlfection is unique enough to me that I don't regret picking her up either ;)
Both polishes applied easily and dried pretty fast too.  I <3 Essie.

Essie Luxeffects: A Cut Above Nail Polish PLUS a Question; Anyone from New Jersey?

Hey there!  How's things?  I've been neglecting my nails for the past 2 weeks (and in turn, neglecting my blog!)  because we were/are in the process of moving from Oregon to New Jersey!  I'm originally from Massachusetts, and this is our 2nd cross-country move in the past 14 months or so.  You should have seen my hands after juggling all of our luggage/kids/strollers/car seats through several airports last week.  Yeah, not a pretty sight!  The worst part?  My entire nail polish collection is somewhere in storage (including my new holiday polishes that I had yet to try).  I'm in a hotel with no nail polish, so what's one to do?  Go out exploring and see what NJ beauty stores have to offer!  Today I picked up one of the glitters from Essie's new 'Luxeffects' holiday collection.  I wanted all of them, but many seemed similar to other glitters I own (Nubar 2010 and some of the CND Effects come to mind).  I grabbed A Cut Above, which is a pink glitter in a clear base.  The glitter chunks range from micro to larger hex.  This is only one layer done over one coat of OPI's 'So Many Clowns, So Little Time':

I love that Essie is doing glitter. Athough they aren't extremely different from many others, they are still cool!

So, more on moving...the week before we left Portland, we drove up to look at the Pacific coast one last time...here are a few pics:

First we stopped in Astoria (where the movie "Goonies" was filmed, btw) and got to see the Columbia River up close:

One of the tunnels we went though on our drive...love this:

We also went to Cannon Beach and took pictures of Haystack Rock.  Although it looks like it was dark out in this pic, it was really mid-day.  The fog on the beach was playing tricks on my camera....I love the effect it had:

Exactly 2 weeks later, I found myself standing on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, more specifically, the Jersey Shore!

So...anyone from NJ?  I like it here so far, and I love being able to drive home to Mass and visit our families! I do miss Oregon terribly though...in the year that we were there, I really fell in love with it.  I look forward to going back to visit!
