Deborah Lippmann "Boom Boom Pow" Nail Polish Over Sally Hansen Insta-Dri "Presto Pewter" Pictures

Today's nail combo was inspired by a bracelet I have and love.  It is a gold leather band with gunmetal faceted "stones":

I love the color combo of the gold & gunmetal, and wanted to to wear it on my nails as well.  First, I did one layer of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in "Presto Pewter":

Then I used one layer of Deborah Lippmann's "Boom Boom Pow" a 24 carat gold infused glitter:

Blurry, but you can see more of the contrast that is more apparent in real life.
Color:  Sally Hansen "Presto Pewter" is more gunmetal or even graphite colored than pewter.  It is really a pretty color nonetheless. "Boom Boom Pow" is flashy yet wearable at the same time- there are larger hex shaped glitter pieces plus gold micro glitter as well.  Another Lippmann I am happy to welcome into my collection.

Formula/Application: SH 'Presto Pewter' was a ONE coater!  For a metallic polish, it was very smooth and not "brush-strokey".  'Boom Boom Pow' was chock full of glitter in one coat- perfect!

Where To Buy: The Sally Hansen in this particular shade came out in late Summer/ early Fall last year (sold in most drugstores).  I purchased mine on clearance around November, so I'm not sure that this one will be an easy find.   I purchased Boom Boom Pow from Apothica.com!

  1. Interesting combination! I never would have thought to put these two colors together but they look nice :)

  2. That's a really cool bracelet! I like the color of the Sally Hansen polish a lot.

  3. How many times have I told you that you're the layering queen?! You know what's so crazy awesome about this? The combination of gold and silver....the two shades you chose so perfectly compliment each other...love it!
