Deborah Lippmann "Across The Universe" Nail Polish Pictures

I finally bought Deborah Lippmann's "Across The Universe" after what seems like forever.  I've admired it since it came out, but somehow I had managed to talk myself out of NEEDING it.  Then it happened.  You know how you can see a color a million times, but then you see a certain photo of it, in a certain way that will simply not allow you to say 'no' any longer?  That's what happened with this! I also love the Beatles song, so it was just time to give in.

I did one layer of CND's "Midnight Sapphire" first as a base, so I would not have to do tons of layers of "Across The Universe":

"Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup, they slither while they pass they slip away across the universe..."

Color: This polish certainly is cosmic looking!  The sheer navy base has tiny blue glitter with larger hex shaped glitters in light blue and green.

Formula/Application: It definitely helped that I did a base color first.  I believe that this is similar formula wise to "Bad Romance", and that was buildable in about 4 coats (for COMPLETE opacity).  I did 2 layers of 'Universe' over one layer of 'Midnight Sapphire' here, and it dried pretty quickly.

Where To Buy:  I ordered mine from Apothica.com.

    1. Anne, it was a difficult bite for me to take as well. It is hard to justify spending so much on a single polish when in my head I am really calculating how many others I could be buying instead! Anytime I get a gift certificate, I use them towards DL's that I really want!

    1. Hahaha, I love having someone to freak and geek with, Margaret! I'm wondering if Revlon will eventually replicate this one the way they did with Deborah Lippmann's "Bad Romance". Now that would have me freakin' even more =)

  6. Smart idea layering this beauty over an opaque base colour...saves on multiple layers, that's for sure! Even though you know that I'm not a huge glitter fan, I so love this shade; Deborah Lippmann manages to make glitter polishes look so sophisticated, don't you think? You remind me that I need to dust this baby off and give it another whirl!

    1. That's exactly what it is with DL- you don't feel childish wearing her glitters because they are so well done ;) I love this one on you!

It was one of the first Lippmann polishes I ran out to buy as soon as I found out about it. It's glorious and I love the layering idea! Looks great!
