China Glaze "Laser Lime" & Julep "Sofia" Nail Polish Pictures

My subtitle for this post is "an ode to seasonal allergies".  Both polishes featured here are spring green and remind me of all the beautful/pain in the rear trees that are blooming right now.  I spent all of last week with a runny, chapped nose thanks to said trees, and all of this week with itchy, watery eyes.  Fun stuff!  Today (knock on wood), my symptoms seem to almost completely gone.  So let's celebrate the end of allergies:

I picked up this China Glaze polish from Sally's this weekend.  It is "Laser Lime" part of last year's "Tronica Collection".  I had wanted this one, waited too long before grabbing it and thought I'd lost out:

The best part about finding this polish?  It was in the "Reduced" bin!  Yay!

Laser Lime has a slight holographic glitter in it's pretty lime green base:

Oh, hello Thumb!
I've had Julep "Sofia" just waiting around, yearning to be layered over something and I decided today was her day.  "Sofia" is a sheer lime green base with sparse bits of green glitter.  It definitely boosted the "green factor"" of "Laser Lime", but still allowed the holo to shine through:

Did you even know I had thumbs?

Sofia dries dull, so top coat is needed to bring her to her full, shiny potential.
This looks sorta reminds me of a lime lollipop.  Do you love Laser Lime with Sofia or by itself?

    1. I was so psyched to find it!! hahaah I could spend hours sifting through those clearance bins! Funny thing though, if I go to a clothing store (think Marshalls or TJ Maxx) where clothes are all mixed in together, I have an anxiety attack! LOL

  2. Haha, "ode to season allergies"! That sounds like a Claritin commercial or something. This is gorgeous as always. I love layering. Do you ever over-layer? Sometimes I end up hating my layering combo so I keep adding stuff and I end up with about 15 coats of a muddled mess!

    1. I have definitely been there with the over-layering. I've ended up with concoctions that wouldn't dry for days due to my over the top, multiple layers! bahahahah :) I was so happy when I realized you left a comment!! hahaha xoxoxo

  3. Cute combo! I'd like to see Sophia layerd over some other things. Glitter is the only Julep polish I'll buy because I hate the formula of the colors.

    1. Yeah, I was kind of at a loss as to what to try Sofia over! I need to think outside the box! I actually really like most Julep colors, although sometimes I need to use nail polish thinner on them to get to a consistency I like more- they can be thick!

  4. I think I prefer laser lime by itself :)

Aaaaand I know what you mean about allergies. They suck!

    1. I do like the softness that Laser Lime has by itself! Frickin' allergies man....I never had them as a kid and now it's ridiculous!

  5. I love that you can JUST see the julep polish flashing over LL...works perfectly to bump up the shimmer and shine more! That's awesome!

  6. $1.99 ? Are you kidding me?! Only you would have a polish lying around, knowing that it's "yearning" to be layered over something -- and dang! if you're not always right about the combos! This really works, probably because Sofia doesn't overpower the China Glaze ..love the little green dots of light! And I'm shocked: you have thumbs?! LOLOLOL!!

  7. Love the Laser Lime! I've never seen it before and now it has *mysteriously* been added to my Polish Wants list... hmm methinks viewing your blog is harmful to my wallet! :) I like the subtle qualities of the layer- but me? I'm a bigger better more junkie... I have a glitter right now that I'd totally add to that mani- it's called "Call You Later" by Sinful Colors. If you don't have it, I recommend it if you like green/gold fine to micro glitters :) hope your allergies stop soon! xo, E.
