Jordana Purple Glam Nail Polish (Pictures) Plus A Franken Polish

I had to take some length off my nails this weekend due to some peeling issues (which, btw, are all my own doing....I have the worst habit of peeling off my nail polish, which in turn peels my nails!  I am such a bad nail tech!).  Whenever my nails are shorter, I always tend to reach for darker colors.  I guess I feel like I pull them off better somehow.  Here is "Purple Glam", a Jordana Nail polish I picked up around Christmas!  She's just been sitting in my untried polish drawer, waiting for her chance to shine.  Here she is:

A deep purple base with small holographic glitter pieces as well as holo bar glitter:

I was surprised that with one layer of Seche Vite topcoat, this dried very smooth!

While I was uploading these, I came across pictures I took a few nights ago of my very first "franken" nail polish (Franken- to create your own polish by combining other existing polishes).  I am the #1 nude/neutral/almost-not-there nail polish fan, and so when I mixed up a few colors and added glitter to this, I was pretty happy with myself...it's a milky, sheer beige with clear iridescent glitter mixed in:

Haha, I'm so boring!  I have seen INCREDIBLE creations by others that have every color of the rainbow mixed in and this-white on beige- is my "dream" nail polish (!?).

What do you think of both polishes?  If you could create any polish for yourself, what would it look like?

  1. I had that purple for a couple of months too before I tried it in, and I loved it too. It looks good on you!

  3. First of all, BAD Maribeth for peeling your polish...BAD!! *major hand spanking* Secondly, what an interesting purple...and you've been keeping it a secret all this time! Lastly, your franken is gorgeous! You know me and my moody shades -- this creation of yours is one I can totally get behind!

  4. I think the only way I'd ever really want to sport "mannequin hands" is if I could find a polish that really did suit my skin and had a pretty glitter like that one! I do have a nude polish that I wear just to hide any stains when a conservative occasion calls for it. Maybe I'll add some iridescent or white glitter to it next time!

  7. I totally know what you mean about reaching for dark colors with shorter nails, I'm the same way! I think darker colors look too intense on longer nails sometimes. And don't feel bad, I'm a peeler too. I find it easier than using countless cotton balls and bottles of acetone but I know it is so bad for my nails. I find buffing helps me with the peeling, but of course there's only so much buffing one can do. And lastly I AM IN LOVE with your franken. I love that the base is subtle but the glitter adds a little something!

  8. I honestly don't like to see my nail line lol... so I abhor nudes or others like them... BUT I really like your franken.... on you. :) I doubt I'd ever wear it personally because I would feel like I needed something else under it but seriously I like it- good job!! Also, thanks for liking our blog!! Sorry I haven't been by to say hi until now!
