L.A. Girl Fruity Scented Nail Polish (Pictures)

I love finding L.A. Girl polishes that I haven't tried.  I found these "Fruity" ones at Rite Aid!  Now, thanks to my wonderful adult-onset allergies, I can't really tell you how these smell.  I can tell you that they each have a really fun crushed flaky kind of glitter though!

First I did "Razzy Raspberry" (sheer pink purple with glitter flecks) over Essence "Break Through":

Break Through by itself

One layer of "Razzy Raspberry" on top of "Break Through"

Next, "Sparkling Peach" (Clear base with peach & gold flake glitter) over Zoya "Wednesday":

Zoya Wednesday alone

"Sparkling Peach" over "Wednesday"

Lastly, "Blissful Blackberry" (sheer wine colored base with burgundy & gold flecks).  I did this one by itself. A tad sheer, I did 3 layers here and it was pretty opaque"

I really wish I had a sense of smell right now so I could weigh in on that aspect of these.  Alas, I spend a good 6-7 months of the year with almost no sense of smell.  It's very frustrating and you would think that I would lose weight since I can't really taste my food either, but nope- I'm still boredom eating even if I can't really tell what I am putting in my mouth! :D  Can you say "issues"?

Do you own any scented nail polishes?  Do you sit around and sniff your nails?  Tell me about it so I can live vicariously through you!

    1. I look like a crazy person because depending on the time of day, I get a small amount of my 'smell' back, and I'm just sitting here sniffing my nails. I must look like a freak. I really can't smell anything...maybe the teeniest hint of something, but I might just be making it up in my head!

    1. LOL, I'm glad that I'm not alone!! I think between not being able to taste, and chasing my kids all day, I should be super thin! Why doesn't it work out that way!? hahahaahahahahha

  6. Dangit, I want them all! Stupid no Rite Aids in Texas! Oh God, I think people are weird if they DON'T have food issues. I don't know how many times I will eat something only to stop mid-way through, wonder WHY I'm even eating it, and just continue because it's already there.

My allergies haven't been too bad this year. But it seems like for the last 2 years I have had one nostril that is completely clogged. It's super annoying when you're sleeping on one side and you turn to the other and all the boogers drain to the other side. Haha, you hafta know what I'm talking about. I hate it!

    1. Right? I know people who eat nothing but salad and drink water and act like they are happy. I DONT buy it ;) I so hear you on the one nostril closed issue too. THat is the WORST! I'm actually kinda psyched because I'm going to an actual allergist this week to see if they can help. I think I have something really wrong with my nose. It's been like this for 3 years now. I've just been brushing it off, but it is finally annoying me enough to do something about it :) You know if you ever need a Rite Aid hook up, I got your back!

  7. The only scented lacquers I have (and ever owned) are the two Dior released recently, 'Waterlily' and 'Forget Ne Not', and they're both quite lovely, actually - not too heavy or cloying. From the 3 you've shown here, I love how Sparkling Peach looks layered over Wednesday (excellent choice, by the way!) and I have to say that Blissful Blackberry is gorgeous! I love that glass-flecked "lit-from-within" look!

Ok, as to your allergies (yet something else we have in common!) I don't know what you may or may not be taking for it, but something that I found works miracles for me and doesn't break the bank, is a generic allergy-relief medication from Wal-Mart. Part of their own "Equate" line, it's simply called "Allergy Relief" (main ingredient: cetirizine hydrochloride tablets 10 mg) and comes in an extra-strength non-drowsy formula as well. You could also try drinking plenty of ginger tea during the day (has antibiotic and anti-spasmodic properties and helps to reduce mucous membrane swelling - naturally) and it should not only help with any nasal stuffiness, but curbing your appetite as well (a two-fer!)

Ginger Tea recipe: grate anywhere from 1 tsp to 1 tbsp of fresh ginger (no need to peel it first) into a class measuring cup. Bring a cup/mug of water to a boil, pour over the grated ginger and let it steep for about 2-3 minutes. Strain into a cup/mug & enjoy! You can adjust the strength of the tea by the amount of ginger you use, and you could always sweeten it with honey as well. Just remember that the stronger the tea, the more peppery it is!

    1. OMG, the ginger tea sounds fantastic! Thanks so much for the recipe. I'm willing to try anything. I go to the allergist Thursday so I have to not take anything until then since they will be doing testing and they don't want anything to interfere. After that I will head to Wal-Mart and try "Allergy Relief"! Thanks for the tips Eugenia :)

  8. I don't own any scented nail polish. I wasn't sure if they would work as well. Thanks for the review!!

  11. You have got to try Sparkling Peach over a dark color!! I used mine over a dark brown and the flakies are pink, peach, even purple!
