May Julep Maven "Boho Glam" Box Featuring Sheryl & Kylie Nail Polish

This month, Julep's Boho Glam Maven box came with some fun things!  Included in this box were "The Best Pedi Prep Ever!"  (a roll on callus softener), a giant foot file, a sample of their "Best Pedi Creme Ever" (full size received in last month's box) plus 2 great nail polishes (one of them is magnetic!):

First is "Sheryl", which is described by Julep as "sheer butterscotch shimmer with hint of golden bronze".  I feared that this would be way too sheer to wear on it's own, but was surprised to find it covered completely in 3 layers:

Next up is "Kylie", a "sultry violet magnetic polish".  First I took a picture of Kylie by herself (one layer, no magnetic effect):

After you apply your first layer of magnetic polish, you then go on to apply a second coat of polish, doing one nail at a time.  As you put on the second layer, you quickly put the magnet over the wet polish to create the striped effect.  Repeat with each nail til you are done!

I am really pleased with my box this month and feel like it is a great value.  "Kylie" was my favorite, as I have yet to try a magnetic polish until now! The formula on Kylie was stellar....probably the best I've tried from Juelp thus far.  I loved "Sheryl" too, and want to trying layering her over dark colors as well.  She is a great summer bronze.
What I continually love about the Maven program is that I get things that I wouldn't necessarily chose for myself, yet I always end up falling in love with (Sheryl being that item in this month's box).

If interested in signing up to be a Julep Maven, you can use my referral link here plus the code "COLORS4ONE" to get your first month for 1 penny, a fantastic way to try Julep out and see how you like them!  (Julep is also being sold in Sephora now as well.)

Have  you tried any magnetic polishes yet?  I want to play around with the magnet more and see what sort of angles I can get with my stripes :D

  1. Sheryl looks so pretty on you and I think you're right about trying it over another base to really make it "pop"!! Kylie is a nice take on a magnetic polish; the only one I've ever tried was when Nails Inc. debuted this finish, and it took me a couple of tries to get the hang of it - but it was fun! Looking forward to seeing some of your creations!

  2. Oooh, that's cool they sent you a magnetic polish. I have 2 and like them. I'm too lazy and untalented for nail art, so this is a nice way to fake it, haha.

Haha, we are both terrible email-backers. :) Yuck about the flat tire! Oh oh oh, I got the makeup counter job at the store I'm working at. I only had 50 bazillion interviews for it!
