Late To The Party. China Glaze Hunger Games Nail Polish (Dress Me Up and Luxe & Lush)

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Unless you live under a rock in nail polish land, you have probably seen a zillion pictures of the China Glaze Hunger Games collection.  I kept going back and forth with these.  When I first started seeing photos pop up online, I was all -"OMGz!! I frickin need them ALL".  Not being completely familiar yet with my new town and all the places that sold China Glaze nearby, I put them on the back burner and my interest started to wane.  After seeing tons of pics, they weren't earth-shattering to me anymore.  By the time I figured out that I had several Sally Beauty supplies nearby, the choices they had left in the collection were the ones I was least interested in.  Fate stepped in when I walked into one of these stores Saturday (with a coupon, no less) and discovered they had an entire bucket of all the colors I wanted!  I had to give in and get a few.

"Dress Me Up" is a mauve creme.  How boring, right?  I don't know why, but this color was playing on a loop through my brain "get me...get me...get me".  I associate mauve with 'mature'. Maybe even 'boring'.  Yet, I needed this.  It goes along with my healthy nude polish obsession I think, and reminds me of all the moms who's nails I'd admired growing up:

Hey...I am a mom, so it's ok for me to like some 'mom' colors, right?

"Luxe & Lush" is a clear based with iridescent "shard" type glitter.  How did I not know that I needed this like, yesterday?!  I'm slowing becoming completely enamored with all shard type glitters.  This one is special.  It totally took "Dress Me Up" from nice to WOW.  I love it:

I picked up a few more from this collection as well: Stone Cold, Electrify, Argo, & Riveting.  I'm glad that I did not miss out on these!

I know your life is now complete, having seen your zillionth and one post on the CG Hunger Games polishes!

:D

  13. I've had Luxe and Lush for quite sometime now but I'd never thought of putting over a nude color. That combo is gorgeous! Now I have so many combinations floating around my head.

PS. Mom colors don't have to be MOM colors. I'm a Mom and I rock all kinds of stuff! It gets really interesting when my 8 year old picks out my colors!
