Deborah Lippmann "Ray Of Light" (Pictures)

How's your Monday going? I have yet another fabulous Deborah Lippmann polish from my Apothica.com order to show you today! "Ray Of Light" came out this Spring and it is fantastic:

I knew from reviews I've read that this polish is on the sheer side. Here it is on my thumb...2 layers:

I decided to use a base in a similar color. I have this franken polish that my friend Jessi sent to me and it was the perfect match! Indigo blue with copper shimmer:
Jessi's franken -2 layers
Then I did just one layer of "Ray Of Light" on top.  This polish is a squishy, jelly blue base with flaky glitter:

Isn't this wonderful?! The base color was such a great match for this!

What do you have on your nails today? Are you still in Summer mode or are you moving towards Fall?

  1. Maybe I should try it the way you did - when I wore it alone the formula was a nightmare!!! Today I am wearing DDP Release the Kraken, first version, that she only made 10 or.

    1. Yeah, it was smooth sailing doing the one coat on top of the base! I knew that it was trouble and thick and sheer so I was determined to make it work! :) Um,I need to see your nails today!

  2. I decided against this one, because I saw on a few blogs that they had trouble with the formula. The polish is really gorgeous though!

  8. Guh. So pretty!

I'm wearing Essie's Forever Yummy with a couple of black and white chevron accent nails (Instagrammed here: http://instagram.com/p/PZyeeiR9hX/). Since I've been experimenting with making my own polish decals, I've basically been redoing the same manicure (or parts of the same manicure!) every day or so since last week. But one of my coworkers noticed that I switched out the bright, hot red I was using last week (Zoya Haley) for a deeper, more "back to school" shade. I hadn't thought much about the choice, since I've really been concentrating on the chevron accents, but I guess I have moved into autumn nails!

  11. I love, love, love this one....something about the combination of the cobalt base and the iridescent flakies just totally works for me! Looks ridiculously fabulous on you & smart idea layering it over that franken ! Thanks for reminding me of what a treasure this is -- now I want to go wear it again!
