Disclosure: Products in this post were provided for review.

Today I have some pretty polishes from Nicole by OPI's collaboration with Kellogg's Special K.  They have a promotion starting in April! Read more from Nicole by OPI's press release:

"Nicole by OPI announces that the brand will be producing three custom nail lacquer shades for Kellogg’s® Special K® beginning in April to pair with a campaign encouraging women to “show off your confidence with color.” Shoppers will have the opportunity to receive free full-size bottles of Nicole by OPI nail lacquer by signing up for the Kellogg’s Family Rewards program and entering codes from specially marked boxes of Special K products, while supplies last.
The three custom shades include: Challenge Red-y (crème red), Pros & Confidence (crème turquoise) and Be Ama-Zing! (crème pink).
With the purchase of three eligible Special K products, consumers will receive the shade Challenge Red-y. After submitting the purchase codes from eight eligible Special K products, consumers will receive all three lacquers – Challenge Red-y, Pros & Confidence and Be Ama-Zing!"

" “Nicole by OPI is delighted to partner with Kellogg’s to offer such an exciting reward to Special K consumers,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Nicole by OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “At our company, we always say that nail lacquer can change your look – and your outlook. In working with Kellogg’s Special K, we hope to inspire and motivate women who are striving for beauty both inside and out.”This promotion will be available in the US where Special K products are sold."

Be Ama-zing!  is a beautiful bright creme pink with fantastic coverage with just 2 layers of polish:

Pros & Confidence is bright turquoise creme beauty. Superb formula on this one as well:

Challenge Red-y rounds out this trio. This red creme/jelly mix is simply perfect:

For a quick nail art look, I used Challenge Red-y as my base and I dotted some Pros & Confidence on half of each nail. I just love red & blue together like this!

These are some great staple colors to have in your polish wardrobe, and if you don't already own colors like them, you should most definitely snatch them up!

I will leave you with some parting info from Nicole by OPI:

Twinsie Tuesday: Favorite Color

Oh hey there, Tuesday! How's things?  Today's Twinsie theme is "Favorite Color".  I have 2- teal/turquoise and coral- specifically that bright, eye searing neon coral that pops up this time of year.  For today's nails, I resurrected the China Glaze polish Pink Plumeria from last year's Summer Neons collection.  This color is even brighter in real life, and has a delightful shimmer that really makes it pop. Such a pretty, wearable, neon shade!

Such a fab polish with an equally fab formula!

Don't forget to get to check out the other Twinsie's favorite colors too:

Glitter Sandwich With Sephora by OPI "Come To Papa-razzi"

If you've read my blog before, you know I'm slightly in love with making a glitter/jelly nail sandwich. Basically, you take a base color, add a glitter, and then add another (sheer)  color to top everything (you can do your base color again if it's sheer...I am doing something different today!).  I've had this glitter from Sephora by OPI (Come To Paparazzi) sitting in my box of untried polish, and I just knew I needed to find a way to wear her.  Here's what I used:

This glitter is way cool. It has a clear base with copper micro glitter, small black glitters (that look like pepper to me), and larger gold hexes. Very spicy ;)

I started with OPI My Vampire Is Buff (2ish layers) for my base:

Step 2: 1 Layer of Come To Paparazzi:

Step 3: Topped it all off with OPI Don't Touch My Tutu ( a sheer white polish):

There you have it. This combo reminds me of food for some reason....not sure if it actually resembles anything edible though. It probably has more to do with the fact that I'm dieting ;-)

Have a great Sunday <3

Nicole by OPI Nail Art (Modern Family Collection)

While trolling around Facebook the other day, I happened upon this lovely photo on Nicole By OPI's page using colors from the recently released Modern Family collection. I HAD to use the same color combo on my nails at once!

Using Alex By The Books, A Phil's Paradise, and My Jay Or The Highway, I cheated my way through a tape manicure. How did I cheat? Well typically when using tape for this type of mani, you'd paint your entire nail with a base color, wait for it to dry completely, and then tape off (with nail art tape) part of it and paint on your second color. Not having the patience required for that today, I instead taped off sections/designs on bare nails and filled in each quadrant (or half, depending on the design) with the different colored polishes. I then peeled off my tape to reveal bare lines that I then took a nail art brush to with a third color. Topped it all off with top coat and voila:

Left to Right

Woohoo! I love this combination!!  I love finding new ways to wear colors that I've already tried.

Nails Inc Sprinkles Sugar House Lane Nail Polish

Today I am wearing a polish from the Nails Inc "Sprinkles" collection that came out last year.  These polishes all have a creamy base with mixed glitter that remind me very much of sprinkles mixed in frosting.  This one is called Sugar House Lane, and it has a creme gray-taupe base with silver and black glitters mixed in:

(2 layers)

I simply love the polishes in this collection (see Sweets Way here and Pudding Lane here!). I will be showing the pink one, Topping Lane, very soon too!

These polishes are available on Sephora.com

Twinsie Tuesday: Polish Roulette

Hello!  It's Tuesday once again, and this week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is "Polish Roulette". We had to randomly choose 2 polishes from our collections and make them work together.  I recruited my eldest son once again to help me on this one. He chose a drawer from one of my Helmers, and picked 2 polishes at random.  Out popped Julep Portia and Julep Brooklyn, 2 sparkly glitters:

Because these are both on the sheer side, I layered them over matching base colors (Julep Catherine under Brooklyn, and Julep Miranda under Portia).  Red and turquoise is one of my favorite color combinations ever, so I was very happy about pairing these together:

Be sure to check out the randomness from the other Twinsies this week!

Julep Maven Box (March) Boho Glam Featuring Leila & Joy

Today I finally got around to photographing my Julep Maven box for March!  This month's box (I chose the Boho Glam theme) came with 2 very Springy colors, a hand creme and a strawberry-mint flavored lip balm:

The Rock Star Hand Creme has a really nice, moisturizing texture and a fresh scent. I love the packaging too:

It has the type of dispenser that you twist open on the bottom- I love this type of packaging!

The 2 polishes featured in this box were Leila and Joy:

Here's 2 layers of Joy on.  It's a nice, dusty purple-mauve creme. I love colors like this! The formula was very nice too:

Next is Leila, a buttery lemon yellow with a hint of iridescence.  A much thicker formula, this one was a bit uneven with the first 2 layers, so I did 3 in these photos:

I was totally inspired to do an accent nail with Leila as the background color! I pulled out some other Spring colored Juleps and added some stripes with a skinny nail art brush:

I don't know about you, but I'm totally ready for Spring to officially start this week, and these colors definitely put me in a fabulous mood!

If you are interested in receiving your own  monthly Julep Maven box, you can use my referral link here!
Be sure to enter the promo code PENNY to receive your first monthly box for only a penny! This is a great way to try out the products and service to see if it's for you.

The Spring countdown is officially on!

***Disclosure: This post contains a referral link- I receive Julep "Jules" (points) for each friend I refer to the Maven program***

Essie Butler Please Nail Polish (Pictures)

Holla! Today I'm wearing a polish that has eluded me for a few months now- Essie Butler Please was released for the Holiday season and I've had a strangely difficult time tracking it down until now.

This bright, cobalt creme is the perfect shade of happy blue.  Here's 2 layers of polish. It dries to a semi matte finish and was on the thick side, but pretty nonetheless :

Next, I topped Butler Please with Sephora by OPI 18K "It's Real" Gold topcoat. I've been dying to do this combo ever since I spied my girl Mel of Glassflecked rockin' a similar combo (with Nails Inc Baker Street instead) awhile back. Perfection!

I simply love how the gold pops on top of Butler Please.Truly a match made in polish heaven!

Do you have a gold top coat?  What is your favorite color to wear it over?

Saint Patrick's Day Mani With Julep Emilie & Sienna

Saint Patrick's Day is this Sunday, and I discovered that I owned the perfect St. Patty's day green- Julep Emilie. I paired it with Julep Sienna, a metallic gold, for my accent nail and added some corresponding polka dots (since I am NOT even going to attemp free hand shamrocks!).  I love this color combo:

Are you doing any special green nails for the occasion?  Do you have a go-to green?

Spring Metallics- Deborah Lippmann Moon Rendezvous Nail Polish (PIctures, Swatches, Review)

I love a great pastel for Spring as much as the next gal, however my heart skipped a beat when I realized that the amazing Deborah Lippmann was releasing a metallic for Springtime (hey, variety is the spice of life, right?).  Moon Rendezvous is a pretty silvery slate blue metallic and it's part of the new Romantic Rapture collection.

All you need is 2 layers of polish for perfect coverage. Bonus points for the fact that this isn't riddled with visible brushstrokes (usually a necessary evil with metallic polishes):

What do you think of this one? Do you like the idea of a Spring metallic as much as I do?
Deborah Lippmann polishes are available from several different retailers, including Apothica.com (where I ordered mine!).
