Greetings! It's very appropriate that I'm showing you some Fall nail polish shades today since it's feeling more like October here in Jersey than July (current temp = 64!). I'm not complaining though---Fall is my favorite season.
I was so very excited to see what OPI had in store for Fall/Winter and the San Francisco collection did not disappoint me- there truly is something for everyone here.
First, here's the scoop about the collection from OPI's press release:
OPI Launches the San Francisco Collection
For Fall/Winter 2013
San Francisco by OPI brings street chic style with West Coast flair to nails and toes for Fall/Winter
2013. This new collection features a palette ranging from sky and
sea-colored hues of blues and gray to reds, burgundies and browns
inspired by some of the city’s most iconic elements – Chinatown, the
Golden Gate bridge and the Embarcadero. This fall mélange is mixed with
texture, seen in three new Liquid Sand™ nail lacquers in earthy hues of taupe, blue and gray: It’s All San Andreas’s Fault, Wharf! Wharf! Wharf! and Alcatraz…Rocks. Liquid Sand lacquers dry to a textured, matte finish, infused with reflective sparkle.
“To me, the women of San Francisco and the city itself really epitomize today’s multifaceted beauty consumer,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “San Francisco
offers a European flair with distinct West Coast attributes. These
elements inspired a collection of urban chic nail lacquer shades, thanks
to the sophisticated combination of high fashion and eclectic street
style.
“With
twelve colors ranging from moody grays and blues to garnet and ruby
jewel tones, these lacquers are designed to accessorize fall’s hottest
looks, from military details to winter whites,” continues Weiss-Fischmann. “On fall runways, models were seen wearing luxurious textures from head to toe. The three new Liquid Sand
nail lacquers incorporate the texture trend through nails, with rich
matte finishes in colors to complement the season’s fashion.”Onward to the pictures!
As soon as I laid eyes on Peace, Love, & OPI, I knew I'd fall in love. I was right. This polish flashes "sage & eggplant" and it is gorgeous. 2 layers shown here:
See more of the color shift below:
Haven't The Foggiest- a dark silver, fleck-y type of metallic. This one had excellent coverage (2 layers shown here):
A Piers To Be Tan- chocolatey, creamy, warm tan with a smidge of burnt sienna thrown in. (2 layers)
Keeping Suzy At Bay- super perfect navy creme (2 layers):
Incognito In Sausalito- midnight blue-almost-black creme. SUPER shiny! (2 layers):
Dining Al Frisco- looking at this in the bottle, I was sure I'd hate it (frosty blue!?) Once on my nails, it definitely grew on me more. It's not as light as I'd anticipated, and not super brush stroke ridden either (2 layers):
First Date At The Golden Gate- warm ruby creme (3 layers):
Lost On Lombard- pretty red creme ( a bit more cooler toned than First Date...) 2 layers:
In The Cable Car-pool Lane- rich burgundy creme ( 3 layers):
Muir Muir On The Wall- deep plum with a flash of burgundy. I LOVE THIS! (2 layers):
Embarca-Dare Ya!- sparkly magenta with amazing coverage (2 layers):
I Knead Sour Dough- OPI calls this "toasty warm brown" and I love that description. Very Autumn-y! (2 layers):
Wharf! Wharf! Wharf!- a textured matte blue (2 layers, no topcoat):
It's All San Andreas's Fault- a matte textured taupe (that reminds me a bit of OPI You Don't Know Jacques!) 2 layers:
Last, here's Alcatraz Rocks!- a fine mix of purplish-blue and gold. To.Die.FOR! (2 layers):
And here's Alcatraz Rocks! with top coat:
Whew! What a large and awesome Fall collection! My favs are definitley Peace Love & OPI, Muir Muir On The Wall, I Knead Sour Dough, Incognito In Sausalito, and I Haven't The Foggiest (ya, just a few!). There's really not a bad one in the bunch, especially if you are in need of some of the staple fall shades of red, navy, and brown! Which ones are stand outs for you!?
