Barielle Brilliant Colors Collection (Nail Polish Pictures, Swatches, Review)

                                                                                                                                      Press Sample

Hi friends! I have another awesome collection from Barielle to share with you today! The Brilliant Colors 5 pack is a completely awesome group of colors that are perfect for this time of year. Check 'em out:

High Marks Purple is a super vibrant, almost neon purple creme with a shiny finish. Love this one (2 layers):

Magna Cum Laude Turquoise is a super pretty light blue neon creme. This one is a little on the thick side, but so gorgeous! This is that kind of color that makes you look tan, even if you are not:

Head Of The Class Green is a bright, fun light creme green- again, this one is borderline neon and I love it! (2 layers):

Smarty Pants Pink is a light neon pink creme.  I always fall in love with cool-toned pinks, and this one is no exception. Love! (2 layers)

It really wouldn't be summer without a bright coral, in my opinion ;)  Straight A Coral is beautiful!! (2 layers):

These are available on Barielle's website! ALSO, today only, they are offering FREE SHIPPING!  Yipppee! They are also hosting an amazing giveaway on their Facebook page, so head over there for a chance to win: http://apps.facebook.com/sweepstakeshq/contests/325713

Twinsie Tuesday: Beach Inspired

How's it going?  It's Tuesday once again which means we have a new 'Twinsie Tuesday' task to conquer!  This week's theme is "Beach Inspired". I knew I wanted to do something sandy, and I also wanted to incorporate blue in there as well.  I wasn't feeling nail-artsy or cutesy today- I wanted something I could wear to work easily. Here's what I came up with:

And here are the colors I used:

As always, don't forget to pop on by my friends' pages to see their beach nails!

Nail Of The Day: Layering With Essie A Crewed Interest & SOPI Traffic-Stopper Copper (Nail Polish Pictures)

It's me, poppin' in with a quick "nail-of-the-day". Today's nails were inspired by me seeing my coworker wearing Essie's A Crewed Interest and realizing I haven't worn this beauty in over a year. I also just picked up Sephora by OPI's Traffic-Stopper Copper for half off (PSA- All Sephora by OPI polishes are half off, so run into the nearest Sephora/SiJCP and scoop some up before they are gone!)

To refresh your memory, here is A Crewed Interest by itself. This is such a perfect light peachy pastel!

Next, I added one layer of SOPI Traffic-Stopper Copper, a clear base with tiny copper glitters and hexes. In my humble opinion, this was MADE to be worn over a peach!

What do you think of this combo?

Thanks for stopping by!

Rainbow Honey Summer of 199X Collection (Nail Polish Pictures, Swatches, Review)

                                                                                                                                                  Press Sample

Hi there! How's it going? Today I have 3 nail polishes from Rainbow Honey's new Summer of 199X collection. Here's a little info about the collection from Dee, the creator:

"Rainbow Honey is pleased to present its newest collection, Summer of 199X - featuring 10 new colors inspired by the 1995 SNES hit, Earthbound.

"Another video game that holds a special place in my heart! I wanted this collection to bring me back into the game, and I think each new lacquer takes me to a special moment or reminds me of a certain boss that resulted in one too many Game Over's... Part I is made up of 5 new glitterbombs bursting with shimmer and color - they all layer to opacity but can be used over other colors as well. Part II is 3 new shimmer-dusted cremes and 2 new glitter toppers that give each creme a bold or sweet look. I am so excited to add these all to our lineup!" – Dee

First, here's my fav from the 3 I got- Tiny Ruby. This glitter packed red has a zillion different sizes and shapes of glitter. Very unique and pretty. This was on the thick side, so patience is a must when applying it. The result is well worth it! 2 layers shown here:
Here is a close up with no flash- you can see the warm tones of glitter best here:

Next is The Kraken, a sea blue-green polish JAM PACKED with glitter. So jam packed that I think I need to thin it out a bit- it was a 'monster' (pun intended) to work with. It may just be my bottle, so I'd be interested to see how other's found the glitter-base ratio. Stunning concept for a polish, nonetheless, and I simply love the name. 2 layers shown here with one layer of top coat:

Last is Pink Cloud, a strawberry hot pink jelly base with holographic glitters. This one is also a tad on the thick side, but not as much so as The Kraken. 2 layers shown here with 1 layer of top coat:

And here are the rest of the bottle shots for reference, along with more info from Rainbow Honey:
Available starting June 21st on Rainbow Honey's website!

China Glaze Sunsational Neons- Shell-O (Nail Polish Pictures, Swatches, Review)

Pink! Coral! Neon! Jelly! All of these describe this color from China Glaze's new Sunsational Neons collection. I heard that these polishes were hard to work with so I started small and only picked up one.
"Shell-o" is on the sheer side (but, duh, it's a jelly so that's expected). I needed to do 4 layers of polish to get it evened out, but they dried fairly quick because of the jelly formula.

Imagine this, only about 5X brighter in real life:

Neons are so hard to photograph! I dialed down the lighting for the picture below, and you can see a bit more of the true brightness/contrast:

Have you tried any more from this set? Did you find them easy to apply?

OPI Limited Edition Neon Revolution Collection (Nail Polish Pictures, Swatches, Review)

                                                                                                                                                Press Sample

If you are anything like me, you cannot get enough neon nail polish right now. Summer is the perfect time to play around with bold color, and OPI has a new mini polish set that gives you a little bit of everything!

From OPI's press release:

"OPI launches the Neon Revolution mini pack, featuring four limited edition neon nail lacquers, a neon white base coat, and OPI Top Coat. These bright and bold shades include vivid hues of yellow, orange, pink and blue. To use, apply color-intensifying white base, followed by two coats of neon lacquer. Finish with the included Top Coat for a high-gloss finish.
“Get ready for a Neon Revolution with these hot flourescent shades!” exclaims Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “Ideal for summer, this mini set includes everything needed to create fun, colorful looks. Wearing a vivid yellow, orange, pink or blue hue on nails and toes is the perfect way to accessorize your warm weather style and incorporate the neon trend.”
In addition to neon white base and Top Coat, each Neon Revolution mini pack includes:
Don’t Say It – Yellow It!
Make a statement in this spiked lemonade yellow.

The Time is Pow!
And the color is this fiery orange.

Pink Outside the Box
Wearing this hot pink is your best idea yet!

Blue it Out of Proportion
No I’m NOT overreacting...I can’t live without this cobalt blue!!
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Right away, I knew I need to put on "Pink Outside the Box". I ended up doing 2 layers of the white polish and 3 layers of 'Pink':

And here are the other colors in a 'Skittle' manicure (one layer of white with 2 layers of neon on top):

Each of these colors applied beautifully. This is a great kit to give you a pop of super brightness for summer!  My only complaint is that I will run out of the white quickly.

Limited edition Neon Revolution mini sets will be available beginning July 2013 at professional salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, jcp Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, ULTA and ulta.com for $19.95 ($24.95 CAN) suggested retail for each mini pack (includes all six products).
For more information, please call 800-341-9999 or visit www.opi.com. Follow OPI on Twitter @OPI_PRODUCTS and become a Facebook fan!

Are you feelin' the neons lately??

Twinsie Tuesday: Marching Orders Take 2

Happy Tuesday!   Today's 'Twinsie' theme is "Marching Orders Take 2" which means we were paired up again and given "orders" from our partner as to what to create on our nails this week. My orders were given to me by the lovely Chelsea, and the theme she gave me was "Dessert Inspired". I whipped up some chocolate cupcake nails with frosting and sprinkles (and now I am hungry thinking about dessert):

I used the colors below for this look:

We have some new Twinsies joining us!! Please be sure to check out Amber, Roisin, and Heather (she will be starting in a week or so)! I can't wait to see what everyone else had for their orders :)

I am very excited to show you my very first KB Shimmer polish today!

"What's Your Damage?" ('Heathers', anyone?) is part of their Summer collection, and it is fabulous. This polish has a milky white jelly base with neon pink, green, and black glitter mixed in.

For my manicure, I used OPI's "My Boyfriend Scales Walls" as my base and 2 layers of "What's Your Damage?" on top. My accent nail is China Glaze "Hang Ten Toes" (from last summer):

I love this totally awesome 80's polish <3
