NEW For Fall: Barielle Sophisticated Lady Collection (Nail Polish Pictures/Review)

Press Sample

Happy Friday!  Today I have another new Fall collection from Barielle to share! (See the Nude & Naughty collection I reviewed the other day here).

The Sophisticated Lady collection from Barielle is comprised of 5 Autumn cremes:

Tres Chic- a dusty dark blue creme:

London High Tea- medium pink creme with a smidge of golden shimmer:

In Good Taste- a dark taupey neutral creme:

Edgy- deep eggplant creme:

Dinner At 8- a slightly warm toned red creme:

Each of these colors had a fantastic formula. I used 3 layers of polish for each of these photos, however in "real life" (re: not taking super close up pictures of your nails), you could totally get away with 2 layers each.  Barielle is a great brand to go to for staple Fall colors! These will be available in September on www.barielle.com!

Thanks for stopping by!

NEW OPI Designer Series Raw Granite (DS Pewter & Lapis) Nail Polish Pictures & Review

Press Sample

OPI is releasing 2 new Designer Series nail lacquers for Fall!  Here's some info straight from OPI's press release with some insight on these special polishes:

"This fall, OPI adds DS Raw Granite, two new granite-inspired hues – DS Pewter and DS Lapis – to the Designer Series by OPI collection. Featuring a matte textured finish with mineral-like reflections, each Designer Series Raw Granite lacquer formula offers subtle sheen with a sparkle finish.
DS Pewter, a matte textured metallic with deep silver ore, will launch simultaneously with DS Lapis, a deep sapphire blue with a textured matte finish.  Designer Series by OPI offers a mosaic of 11 glistening shades and a high-shine top coat, including these two new stunning hues. DS Pewter and DS Lapis can be used without DS Top Coat to achieve an alternate matte look.
“Diamond-dust gives nails the perfect touch of glamour and can instantly transform any look.   These two new shades are inspired by raw granite – the diamond’s edgy cousin – and we’re excited to broaden the range of color in the Designer Series line,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “These lacquers incorporate rich pigments with brilliant shine, to create a bold yet elegant statement. DS Pewter and DS Lapis are the ideal high-fashion, festive accessory.” "

And here they are on my nails :)  2 layers of DS Pewter:

Below you can see the difference that topcoat makes on this polish (top nail with Seche Vite on top; bottom nail without):

And here is DS Lapis (OMG! Super gorgeous) 2 layers:

With topcoat (top nail):

I loved both of these colors, but Lapis absolutely stole my heart. If you ever told me a few years back that I'd love a dark blue matte polish, I'd say you were outta your mind. Both of these will transition nicely from Fall to Winter too! Which one do you like better?

I'll leave you with some parting words from OPI :

Designer Series by OPI nail lacquer shades each feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide™ Brush for the ultimate in application.  DS Raw Granite lacquers should be worn without top coat for a matte finish.  DS Pewter and DS Lapis will be available beginning September 2013 at professional salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, jcp Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, ULTA and ulta.com for $12.50 ($14.95 CAN) suggested retail for each nail lacquer.
For more information, please call 800-341-9999 or visit www.opi.com. Follow OPI on Twitter @OPI_PRODUCTS and become a Facebook fan!

Twinsie Tuesday: Ice Cream

It's Tuesday! (Already?!)  Today's Twinsie theme is "ice cream" so of course I had to wear something in honor of my favorite flavor- chocolate chip cookie dough. And even though I put my ice cream on a cone here, I still had to add cherries on top-because things are always better with cherries:

What I used:
L-R: Barielle In Good Taste, Sation Chocolate Chip Resistant, OPI My Vampire Is Buff, Wet N Wild Tangled In My Web, China Glaze Ruby Pumps

Don't forget to check out the other ice cream posts from the gals:

NEW For Fall: Barielle Nude & Naughty Nail Polish Collection! (Photos and Review)

 Press Sample

Hi friends! I wanted to show you one of two new Fall Barielle collections that landed on my doorstep this week- this one is the Nude & Naughty collection and it consists of 5 "sheer, opalescent, and creamy colors". Neutral polishes are my favorite, so I had to try these right away!

Very Bare- a light pink creme. 2 layers were worn for this photo, and the application was perfect- not streaky or too sheer:

Pillow Talk- a pale peach creme. I really love this one...it's the perfect match for my skin! 2 layers:

I Got A Headache- a shimmery caramel. This one really glows! A little on the sheer side, I wore 3 layers of polish here:

No Not Now- described by Barielle as "sheer toffee", this one looks very mauve on me. Pretty and chic looking! 2 layers shown:

In Good Taste- a chocolate brown creme. This one had great coverage and a really chocolatey smooth finish. 2 layers:

Next, I did some polka dots using Pillow Talk as the base and I Got A Headache & In Good Taste as the dots:

Which Nude is your favorite??

This collection will be available in October from www.barielle.com! Be sure to enter my current Barielle Giveaway here too! (ends tomorrow!)

Before Summer Is Over...More China Glaze Sunsational Neons (Nail Polish Pictures & Jelly Sandwiches!)

I CANNOT believe that it is almost the end of August!!  I figured I had to wear these neons from China Glaze's Sunsational Neon collection while I still had the chance. Although, don't get me wrong-I'd totally wear them mid-winter too. (You can see other colors from this collection here and here)

Here's 3 layers of Keepin' It Teal, a teal jelly polish. I read other reviews on this and knew to expect it to be super sheer. I still was somehow surprised by how sheer it actually was:
Next I added one layer of OPI The Living Daylights and topped it with one last layer of Keepin' It Teal for a jelly sandwich effect:

Next is Are You Jelly? Here's 3 layers of this grapey purple jelly:

For this next sandwich, I used OPI Minnie Style and topped it again with one last layer of Are You Jelly? I love the red glitter and purple base combo!

Did you get any of these neons this summer? If so, I hope you had some fabulous adventures while wearing them!!

KB Shimmer Fall Collection (Nail Polish Pictures & Review!)

***PSSST!  Don't Forget To Enter My Current Barielle Giveaway Here!!***

                                                                                       Press Sample

Happy Thursday fellow nail polish lovers!  Today I am happy to be showing you 3 of the 7 polishes from KB Shimmer's upcoming Fall collection!

Vicious Circles- a "blood red jelly" polish that has tons of different sized circle holographic glitters!  I did 3 layers of polish here and was surprised to find that it was not too thick at all, and very opaque:

Turbulence- is "a satin matte finish slate gray polish inspired by storm clouds". This one has silver, blue, and fuchsia "sparks inspired by lighting and rain". LOVE!  This is 2 layers with no topcoat:
And here is Turbulence with Seche Vite on top! Simply gorgeous:

You Autumn Know-"Crunchy leaves in shades of burgundy, yellow, and brown litter the sidewalks, white flakes of snow slowly cover the autumn shades". What a great description from KB Shimmer. This is a "crelly" polish (both creme and jelly like in application) so I did one layer of a white base then topped that with 2 layers of You Autumn Know for the pics below. This one is totally fall and my fav from the 3:

I was anticipating these so much and I was not disappointed when I finally laid my eyeballs on them- they are so fun!

Mark your calendars-the Fall collection is set for release on 9/1/13 on www.kbshimmer.com!

Which one do you like the best?

Twinsie Tuesday: Circus (Featuring KB Shimmer Clown Puke!)

                                                                                                                                        Press Sample

Twinsie Tuesday time! Today's theme is 'circus', and I had the perfect polish to wear- KB Shimmer Clown Puke! Clown Puke has a clear base and is packed with a bajillion different types of glitter (well, maybe not a bajillion, but KB Shimmer's website says they use at least 100 different glitters in making this!).  I did gradient layers of glitter on top of a turquoise creme (Barielle Magna Cum Laude Turquoise). I started with one layer of glitter over my entire nail, then with the second layer started half way up my nail, and then the third layer on just the free edge/tip of my nail:

Don't forget, KB Shimmer is having a 20% off sale in celebration of 5 years in business! The sale ends tomorrow, so stop by www.kbshimmer.com to pick up your favs!

Check out what the other Twinsies did for this theme too!
