Twinsie Tuesday: First Polish Swatched On Blog

Hi friends! I don't have  a new Twinsie post prepared today, but our theme is the "first polish we ever swatched on our blog". I actually have already re-done my first polish ever swatched awhile back (you can see that here).

Be sure to stop by and visit the other Twinsies to see their posts!

OPI Taylor Blue (Nail Polish Pictures & Review)

Press Sample

Today I have a special polish to share with you!  Not only is OPI Taylor Blue a gorgeous shade of teal blue, but it also benefits a great cause- Taylor's Gift Foundation. The proceeds help the effort "to increase organ donation registrations, change the conversation about organ donation, and fund the mission."  You can read all the details about Taylor Storch here on the website.

Taylor Blue is gorgeous teal jelly formula polish that dries super shiny!  Here I am wearing 2 layers:

This polish is limited edition and only on sale from today (November 21) through December 23! It can be ordered from the website here for $10, but you can also choose to donate more with your purchase as well.  This holiday season, considering giving "the gift that gives back" with this polish!

Matte Leopard Nail Art

Today's post combines 2 trends I never tire of- leopard nail art & matte nails!  What do you think of this look?

And here are the polishes I used: OPI My Vampire Is Buff for the base; With a dotting took, I applied Julep Olivia & Sienna for the spots; Then OPI  Matte Top Coat over everything to mattify it (note: I waited over a half hour to apply my top coat, and I still smudged my design a little. This requires a lot of patience!)

Twinsie Tuesday: East Vs West

Hi friends! It's Tuesday (again?)! Today's 'Twinsie' theme is East Coast Vs West Coast, which means us Twinsies broke up into groups based on our location and depending on which side we were on, we got a different task. Since I hail from the Jersey shore, that puts me on the East coast team with the assignment of favorite glitter polish. Now, this is not something I could possibly narrow down to just one, so I chose to pick my favorite glitter polish of the week- Sinful Colors Decadent, a red raspberry glitter!

Here I am wearing Decadent on top of Formula X Fahrenheit:

And in case you were curious, here's Fahrenheit on it's own (2 layers shown):

Swing by the rest of the Twinsie's posts and see which team they were on!

Nicole by OPI Modern Family Holiday Collection 2013 (Nail Polish Pictures & Review)

Press  Sample

Hi fellow polish lovers! Here's a quick look at 5 new Modern Family inspired shades from Nicole by OPI for the Holidays!

Late Blu-mer- "Vintage blue jeans that have stood the test of time" (-from the Nicole by OPI press release). This had great coverage and is a gorgeous blue for the season (2 layers of polish shown here):

Aren't Families Grape?- "Dramatic royal purple". Again, great coverage here as well (2 layers):

Who Red My Journal?- "Scandalous scarlet". This one leans a on the warm side, and I absolutely LOVE it! Not your typical holiday red by any means, but still very festive (2 layers):

And now for the glitter!

You're My Treasure- "3 dimensional gold". This has different shapes (including diamond!) of gold holographic glitter (2 layers shown on top of Late Blu-mer):

Spark The Conversation- "Holographic glitter coat". SQUARES! Love this! (1 layer on top of Red My Journal):

Here I did a layer of both glitters on top of Aren't Families Grape? I loved how this came out too:

Will you be picking up any from this collection?

Some parting info from Nicole by OPI:

Limited edition Modern Family Holiday nail lacquer will be available November 2013 for $7.99 each at select CVS locations nationwide. For more information, visit nicolebyopi.com. Follow Nicole by OPI on Twitter @NicoleByOPI and become a Facebook fan

Twinsie Tuesday: Marching Orders (Stripe Manicure)

Hello, hello! This week's theme for Twinsie Tuesday is "Marching Orders"- this is the 3rd time we've done this one, and it's always fun. We are paired up with another participant who gets to 'order' us to do a certain type of mani. My orders this week come from the lovely Kelly of Tuxarina, and the task she gave me was "stripes". Here we go:

I used all Julep polishes, and a very thin nail art striping brush to freehand the stripes on. I was going for "Autumn" colors, but this sorta gives a 70's vibe, no?  Here are the colors I used:

Nail Of The Day: Vampy Layering

Hi Friends! Just a quick post with today's nail look. I have been experimenting with layering lately, and here's one combo that I really love. The layering recipe is as follows:

1 layer of Julep Cleopatra (this is "latex" finish matte polish, and dries very quickly, making it ideal for layering)

1 layer of OPI Muir Muir On The Wall, a deep duo-chromey plum (putting this over black adds dimension very quickly)

1 layer of LA Girl Provocative, a magenta glitter that plays off the plum in 'Muir' quite nicely

Viola:

What do you think of this combo?

More Incoco Nail Polish Appliques!

Press Sample

Hello, Monday! I have some fun Incoco Nail Polish appliques to share with you today!  I wore several of these Halloween themed prints during the month of October, and was (once again) super impressed with them. (To read my original review of Incoco, including application instructions, click here!).

Skulls, ghosts, haunted houses and glitter!

Here I am, wearing the orange/black glitter gradient Incoco appliques (Official name: After Dark) These looked so cool on and I got many, many compliments when I wore them:

These next appliques were a huge hit as well. The cute skull design (Bone Rattling) was perfect for Halloween! Fun Fact: These also glow in the dark, a feature I did not realize existed until I reached into a dark cabinet and surprised myself with my glow-y nails!

I wore the "Bone Rattling" nails with my Halloween costume...I went as a Day Of The Dead (Dias de las Muertos) Mexican Sugar Skull. Wanna see my face? Please keep in mind, I was applying my Halloween makeup as my boys were arriving home from school that day. Each of them came up to me and started telling me about their day, never batting an eyelash at my "new" face! What the heck? My 8 year old even told me I was beautiful :)

My sugar skull Halloween makeup!

I've got to tell you, I'm really loving this product. I've had my skull nails on now for 5 days, and there is barely any visible wear. Once they are on, they feel exactly like "regular" polish.  I do enjoy changing my polish frequently, but these are so perfect for the times in my life that I know I'm going to be too busy (re: the upcoming holidays!).  Be sure to check out Incoco's website. You can choose from nail art designs as well as regular polish colors. They also offer free shipping on orders of $50 or more (and low shipping if you are just ordering 1 or 2 items) as well as discount bundles and free returns if you are not satisfied (but, psht, you will be!).
