Twinsie Tuesday: Something New! (Featuring Nails Inc)

Happy New Year's eve!  Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is "Something New"- what better time to bust open some new polishes that I got for Christmas, am I right?

My Secret Santa from work gave me this awesome Nails Inc set. It came with 6 full sized polishes in different colors and finishes:

Each one wrapped up like a perfect lil present!
Each bottle had a quote packaged with it as well!

Here's what I wore for today's manicure: Kensington High Street, a deep burgundy red-wine creme topped with Marylebone Lane, a ruby red glitter. I applied the glitter in a gradient fashion, making it more dense towards the tip of my nail:

I'm utterly in love with this combination!

I'm looking forward to posting more regularly now that the holiday season is winding down!  My nail resolution is to take better care of my hands and nails more proactively (you know, moisturizing more, using my nail strengthener like I should be, etc, etc!).  I've seen some of the press releases for Spring 2014, and I am SO excited!

As always be sure to check in with the other Twinsies to see what they are wearing this week (and be sure to check back next Tuesday for a few new additions to the TT family!):

Twinise Tuesday...On Thursday! (Something Blue)

**PSST!! There's still time to enter our Twinsie Tuesday Holiday Giveaway! Click here for a chance to win a $60 gift card to an e-tailer of your choice!**

Well, the days just keep getting past me around here. I'll spare you my excuses, but here's what I meant to post this past Tuesday for our Twinise theme, "Something Blue"!

My Julep Maven box yielded the perfect blue-ish polish this month- Misti is a "smokey blue grey creme" according to Julep's website.  Here's 2 perfect layers of polish:

Next, I topped Misti with the other polish that came in my December Maven box...Joelle, a "smoky holographic glitter". I started half way up my nail with this and made it the most heave towards the nail tip, giving it a slight gradient effect

If you are interested in signing up for your own monthly Julep Maven box, click my referral link here...also be sure to enter the code " FREEBOX " to try your first month 100% free! (A month is usually $19.99). You can decide after if you'd like to keep receiving boxes each month, skip a month when you don't love it, or cancel with no strings attached.

Be sure to check in with the other gals and see what they've been up to this week!

New! Zoya Naturel Nail Polish Collection (Pictures & Review)

Press Sample

You already know I'm obsessed with nail polish. I'll try any color, finish, effect, etc ever made at least once. Crazy color combos? Sign me up. Glitter on top of glitter? Yes, please. What may surprise you is that my all time favorite, "desert-island-can-only-choose-one-polish-for-the-rest-of-my-life" polish color would be nude. Yes, nude. How boring, am I right? There's just something so polished and perfect to me about neutral, nude-hued nails (say that 5 times fast). When I first saw Zoya's press release for this collection, Naturel, I was thrilled!  With the tagline, "Sometimes less can be so much more...", I felt like Zoya was reading my mind. Take a look at these 6 'Naturel' shades:

Normani- sable mauve cream (2 layers shown here):

Odette- sultry maroon cream (2 layers):

Brigette- Bombshell mauve cream (2 layers):

Rue- Boudior blush cream (2 layers):

Taylor- Light toffee cream (2 layers):

Chantal-French vanilla cream (2 layers):

I loved all 6 of these. Great formula, full coverage cream polishes are Zoya's signature, and these do not disappoint. If you are a neutral lover like myself, be sure to stop by www.zoya.com and pick these up where they retail for $9 each.

Which one is your favorite?!(Rue is my top pick!)

Thanks for reading!

Twinsie Tuesday: Something Borrowed

**PSST!! There's still time to enter our Twinsie Tuesday Holiday Giveaway! Click here for a chance to win a $60 gift card to an e-tailer of your choice!**

Greetings!  This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is "Something Borrowed". I decided to 'borrow' an earlier photo (I originally posed this back in 2011) of Essie "Borrowed & Blue".  I always am shocked by how different my pictures were in my 'early' blogging days, but this one wasn't as terrible as most.

Behold my borrowed picture from the past of Borrowed & Blue, a creamy pastel light blue:

Be sure to check in with the other gals this week too!

Twinsie Tuesday: Holiday Gift (Plus-- Don't Forget To Enter Our Giveaway!)

Press Sample

Hello! I hope this post finds you full of turkey and ready to take on the rest of the holidays! I've been on a little blogging break over here, but I'm ready to get back into it now that we have Thanksgiving behind us!

Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is "Holiday Gift"; each of us were paired up and we had to assign a "gift" of a manicure idea. My gift came from Chichi and she prompted me to create a manicure based on a favorite holiday ornament.  I have had sooooo many favorites over the years. One in particular was a little wooden stocking with my name, spelled correctly, on it that my aunt gave me. It also has the year, "1983", on it as well which means I was 4 when she gave it to me. Even back then, I appreciated that I had a personalized ornament with my named spelled right (thanks to my somewhat unique spelling, I could never find a damn pen or mug for myself like everyone else!). I was going to attempt something to honor that ornament, but it is literally wood with black writing and a green string- not very manicure-y. So I decided to go with the ornaments that I've always been fascinated with, yet petrified of- glass ones! You know, those bulb shaped, shiny, fancy, swirly, glittery ones you are always drawn to, and even though you mother warns you that they are very breakable, you still can't resist picking them up? (and subsequently dropping and smashing into 1,000,000 pieces)? Those. That's the first thing I thought of when I opened my new Incoco nail appliques and saw this design. I had to put it on immediately:

This design is called "Merry & Bright"

Some more Incoco offerings :)

Incoco nail polish appliques are one of my absolute favorite things. Can we talk about the fact that in the photo above, I was going on day 4 of wearing them? There was almost no visible wear! These are an amazing product that I highly recommend!  (They can be purchased from their website here).

Be sure to stop by and visit the rest of the gals to see what "gift" they were given this week!
